Ceremony

This work is written in termary form (A-B-A). It opens with a fast, energetic fanfare- like motifs on the trumpets and lower brasses accompanied with percussive rhythm and decorative woodwinds. This is contrasted by a slow middle section beginning with the woodwinds which gradually culminate with the other instruments into the recapitulation of the opening motifs, ending in a grand ceremonial style.
