Description

This work for chamber orchestra was composed between 2001 and 2002 in Paris, France. Its premiere was on February 12, 2006 at the former Sanromá Hall of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico by the Bayamon Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ángel Mattos. It is inspired by an imaginary experience that a man of the 21st century has with the Afro-Caribbean culture of the 17th century. Being in a village of maroons, this man finds in the people, the music, the flora and the fauna, different colors that arise from the black. Black the skin, the night, the sensuality, the rhythm, the celebration... everything merges in an ecstasy where the fantasy flirts with the history, where the interior is turned into the tops of the trees, where they unite and separate all the colors. An introspective journey where the soul finds its universal nature.
