Description
Czech composer Antonin Dvorak (1841 - 1904) composed this Sonatina in G Major, for violin and piano, in 1893 during his stay in America. This Allegro is the first movement of this work. Dvorak's intention with this composition, dedicated to his children, was to further develop the musical talents of his daughter (pianist) and son (violinist). Its difficulty is therefore not too high; however, it is far from being a "childish" composition. This "Allegro" has themes, which are inspired by Native American melodies. Allegro (from Sonatina, op. 100)
